Australian citizenship application (by conferral) fees in 2022 is AUD 490.00. However, application fee is AUD 300.00 if aged 16 or 17 years at the time of application and there is no cost for a child 15 years or younger applying on the same form as a parent. An Australian citizenship certificate is an official document to show that an individual is an Australian citizen. You can apply for a citizenship certificate or replace one that has been lost, destroyed or damaged. The application fee is AUD 240.00.
Change a citizenship certificate
If you request a change because you believe we made an error, you still need to pay the application fee but you can ask the department to refund the fee (if the department made an error).

The Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) conducts independent merits review of administrative decisions made under Commonwealth laws. The AAT does not have a general power to review decisions. We can only review a decision if an Act, regulation or other legislative instrument states that the decision can be reviewed by the AAT.
