Australia Skilled Migration Visa - Skilled Occupations List (SOL) announced for 2016-17

190000 permanent migration places available in 2015-16.

Australia's Skilled Migration Programme is designed to meet country's economic and social needs. So the total programme open places are broken down into planning levels for each stream of the programme and visa category. There will be up to 190000 permanent migration places are available in 2015-16, among which 128,550 places under Skilled Migration stream, 57,400 places are in the Family stream and 565 places are in the Special Eligibility stream.

Australia's permanent immigration programme has two components:

The migration component consists of skill stream migrants, family stream migrants and special eligibility migrants.
The humanitarian component is for refugees and others in humanitarian need.
The planning level for the 2014-15 Migration Programme is set at 190,000 places.

The Humanitarian Programme is set at 13 750 places.
